 Rice and Beans Ministries is planning a mission camp in El Peje Costa Rica July 6 - July 13th 2008 called "Base Camp Costa Rica 2008". We will have churches from the USA , Honduras and Costa Rica working together to have a week of missions. We will focus our talents and gifts in the ministries of construction, Bible day camps,recreation ministriy ,food ministry and worship ministry.We will work in San Isdro PZ,El Peje,Coccori,Pavones,Santa Rosa  and Buenos Aires in south Costa Rica.

We are currently working on an outdoor worship center at the Methodist Camp at El Peje and when this project is finished we will begin to work on an additional dormitory and bunk beds here. The El Peje camp is used for seminary ,seminars ,   summer and winter youth camps  and many local community and south district events. It is  the local Methodist Church. It is complete with dormitories  and a dining hall . It is used by many denominations
 
We just finished the forth team at Peje this year . The first team of this year was from Charleston Sc.The team leader Sharon and her team   finshed putting on the top of the first part of the  outdoor worship center and worked on the bathrooms.The team was successful with  the Rice and Beans Ministry and assistance with the school by purchasing 30 uniforms and taking school supplies.Thanks be to God.
 The Wesley Foundation from The Universty of Southern Mississippi had 22 students working over spring break . the were assisted from Lauerdale MS UMC and Asbury Umc Petal Ms . The Team mixed concrete ,laid blocks and stood up the columns for the second phase of the worship center .The team served rice and beans to 48 families and assisted with supplies to the school.Over all these two had a very sucessful week od service.Both teams had day bible camps on 2 communities each .Praise God for their service.
 The third team was with Petal Harvey Baptist Church and Mission4one.org .Chris Eaton was the team leader .Chris and his team used recreation ministry to attract the kids to the soccer fields and sports courts to love on them and spread the gospel with the help of translator Lucy Solano and the pastor ,Marvin ,of the Evanglica Methodist Church in San Isdro PZ . The team was 14 people
not only did we work with the kids , we went to a local rehab school  and a convalescent home. We also served 40 famlies with the Rice and Bean Ministry. 
   Our forth team was a group from MT Chapel UMC in Birmingham Ala. Nancy Owen was the team leader.This team had 22 members .They were mixing concrete ( with the new electric mixer) and intalling columns for the outside worship center.This team also particpated in the Rice and Beans Ministry and as i could tell they touched many lives and were blessed just the same.

Don Jorge Villalobos is the District Superintendent for the Evangelical Methodist Church in the Perez' Zeledon District and he has a vision to make the camp for The Body Of Christ open to all Christians.
